Attractions In Phuket Thailand

Phuket Thailand has many attractions one can seek whether on day trips or longer. The Beaches are by far the biggest attraction to Phuket because it has many beaches for one to explore. You can keep yourself busy all year round with the many attractions in Phuket other than just the beaches however.

Taking day trips can be a lot of fun. I have rented long tail boat and gone to the many distinct islands that are about thirty little boat rides from the many distinct piers on island. It's not hard to find a long tail boat as even many of the beaches have them lined up just off shore. A day trip is very uncostly and will remind you of a time when life was straightforward and uncomplicated.

Phuket Thailand

Rubber tree plantations are plentiful on the island and watching and learning how locals make latex from the rubber trees is educational as well as interesting. This age old tradition can also be viewed at night where the Thais find it cooler to work at night or work it as a secondary or night job to supplement their income.

Taking a sea canoe off the eastern part of Phukets calm waters to go cave exploring can be a fun way to get a little extra sun as well as a good workout. There are many little islands, coves and caves to seek with a canoe off Phuket's east coast and water is tranquil and turquoise blue.

The island offers many shows also like monkey shows and snake shows. Many bus tours will take you to the caves in Phang Ngn bay and to visit James Bond Island. Someone else noted day trip is a boat ride out to Phi Phi Island for the day. I find this boat ride rather boring but I have made the trip many times so now I am partial.

If you enjoy Thai boxing, there are several places you can go and watch Thai boxing and even train with the young men. I personally enjoy watching a fight every now and again. The action is real, not staged and the hype is almost as good as wrestling on Tv. There is Thai boxing in almost every small town in Phuket.

For those who enjoy the nightlife in Phuket there is none best then that found in Patong Beach. The town has many discos and a nightlife like no place else in the world. Patong has been voted the number one nightlife spot my several men's magazines. The many beer bars and night spots can be fun to seek is a relaxed and laid back attitude one would expect to find in the islands of the Andaman Sea.

If you find you want to get away from the average tourist hangouts, Phuket town can offer some intelligent shows and live entertainment. It even has some great festivals like vegetarian festival and Chinese New Year's.

I have now lived on the island for several years and grown to call Phuket Home. The island is more than just a great tourist destination; it's a great place to live.

5 Things to Do You Must Do in Phuket, Thailand

1. Go to the beach! If whatever that should be the first thing you do when you get to Phuket. Phuket is sublime for having one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Thailand and some of the top beaches in the world are found just off the coast of Phuket and even on the island. If you like the face paced kind of life, then you would love Patong Beach. Said to be infamous for its nightlife and fullness of activities, Patong is great for those who want to play by day and party by night.

If you are the kind who prefers solitude more, then Nai Thon beach is just for you. This picturesque beach has yet to be discovered by the masses so head there while its still unspoiled and at its natural best.

Phuket Thailand

2. Visit Wat Chalong - Wat Chalong (Chalong Temple) is filled with history and culture of Phuket. Legend even states that miracles were performed here on Wat Chaitararam (known by royal decree), and that the Wat had curative capabilities. See sublime Buddhist statues such as the Poh Than Jao Nonsi and even some of the ex-abbots of the temple like Luang Poh Chuang and Luang Poh Gleum. The Grand Pagoda that dominates the temple contains a splinter of Lord Buddha's bone ( Pharmahathatchedi-Jomthaibarameepragat) Take a meander straight through the place and relive the life of Buddha as depicted on the paintings hanging all over the walls.

3. Go to a Muay Thai match - This one may not be for all but (especially if you don't like violence) but it's genuinely something to give a try especially since you're in the land where Muay Thai originated. One of the most beloved spectator sports around, head for the boxing stadium in Phuket town on a Friday night to catch the spectacular sport of boxing with its pre-fight rituals and even music accompaniment.

4. Go for a walk straight through Khao Phra Thaeo National Park - One of Phuket's last untouched rainforest has been turned into a national park with plainly breath-taking charm all around. If you like trekking, go for an 8km trek throughout the park and end off at the majestic Tonsai waterfall

5. Visit Old Phuket - Streets are filled with 100 year old shop houses that have been remade into small hotels, restaurants and shops. Spend a limited time here and feel the character of this island come to life as you examine the older yet intriguing side of town.

Phuket Tourism - fantastic Thailand

The glory of Phuket tourism is in its resplendent coast. This southern island is surrounded by warm turquoise waters of the Andaman. Thailand beach travel does not get any best than this, with coral reefs, cliffs, spectacular bays that range from calm and blue water beaches to rocky forelands pounded by high raging surfs. And while the coastline is carefully as the icing on the cake, the cake itself is just as desirous. Phuket Tourism offers its tourists a lot more than just beaches. The island is a mixed bag of temples, aquariums, theme parks, golf courses, waterfalls, war monuments, museums and wildlife sanctuaries. A few of the must-see places in Phuket include:

o Hat Patong (Patong Beach)
Located roughly 15 kilometers from the city, this beach is one of the most vibrant and most visited in Thailand beach travel. With a photo excellent postcard view of a 3-kilometer long white sandy beach this one is excellent for swimming, lazing, and enjoying intriguing water sports such as jet skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, pilotage and parasailing. The beach offers all ranges in accommodation, shopping and a dazzling night life.

Phuket Thailand

o Phi Phi Island
With just a short 45-minute journey from Phuket, you will be transportable to the tropical paradise and paramount islands of Ko Phi Phi. It's the extreme tropical getaway in Phuket tourism, where every occasion is photo perfect.

o Phuket Fantasea
Located on Kamala beach, Phuket Fantasea is the extreme night-time cultural theme park of Phuket. It has won several awards including the 'Best Attraction Thailand Tourism Award' Attractions include the Culture-Illusion Stage Show, Fantasy of the Kingdom and a spectacular buffet restaurant Golden Kinnaree Restaurant.

o Wat Phra Thong
A temple which remains as mysterious today, as it did centuries ago. A major attraction in Phuket tourism, the temple has a solid gold idol of Buddha. But here's what should interest you - the idol apparently cannot be moved. The legend goes that hundreds of people who have tried to move it since it was first found, have died. Settled in Thalang, away from highway 402, this strangeness temple attracts thousands of tourists every year.

With an array of international and domestic travel options and its grand hospitality, Phuket tourism offers all you can dream of in Thailand.

Why travel To Thailand?

There are many countries to visit in the world and each offers its own unique attractions and reasons to be visited. So, why Thailand? What makes this country unique, worthwhile and naturally a great place to visit?

With approximately 15 000 000 visitors per annum, and many return visitors from previous years, unmistakably confirm the popularity of the country, but you are unique and will you find what you are seeing for?

Phuket Thailand

Many citizen have indicated to me that, if you are going to be flying all the way to Thailand, I guess you have to be man who likes the beach and the ocean.

This indicates the perception of citizen that Thailand is all about warm weather, islands, blue seas, white beaches and palm trees. While this is unmistakably part of the allure, it definitely is not all Thailand is about.

The first thing that comes to mind is the price tag for visiting and staying in hotels in Thailand. Either you are a back packer, 5 star vacationer or somewhere in-between, Thailand remains one of the most affordable tour destinations in the world.

When elements like the capability of hotel establishments in Thailand (which rival the best in the world) the beautiful surroundings, family friendliness and warm tropical weather to name but a few, is also brought into the equation, accommodation in Thailand is an outright bargain.

To add to the curious hotel accommodation prices in Thailand, this must also be one of the countries in the world, if not the country in the world, where hotels offer the most thinkable, special deals and money saving packages.

Where else would you find hotels contribution deals like "stay 16 nights and pay only 8" or "stay 10 and pay only 5"? It is also not like there is just one or two contribution such a deal once in a while. There are a plethora of them, fluctuating from 3 to 5 star all over Thailand, including destinations like Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi and basically all the rest.

The next speculate on my list is the extremes to which hotels and resorts in Thailand go to generate the greatest family amiable vacation destination.

To start with, it is a known fact that Thais are very fond of children, and as an expat Thailand resident, this became very apparent very quickly. Hotels and resorts all over Thailand acknowledges children as their future customers and as such the very professional kids clubs with an array of educational and other fun and exiting kids activities, creates a haven for children to enjoy their own holiday. At the same time, this creates time for the parents to have time ready to them selves.

Many hotels in all price categories also offer ideal family amiable accommodation. From two to five bedroom accommodation and themed children's rooms, small to large families will find suitable accommodation anywhere in Thailand.

Thailand is safe. Even for the particular female traveler, this must be one of the safest traveler destinations in the world. It unmistakably cannot be argued that crime will never take place in Thailand. However, Thais are a non aggressive citizen and the probability of a traveler falling victim to crime, especially violent crime, remains very low. To maintain this status as a safe traveler destination, The Royal Thai Police have established the traveler Police Division. These men and women are mostly English capable, unbiased and a tourist's first friend when arriving in the land of smiles.

Referring back to our first point in terms of Thailand not being all sand and surf, the diversity of the country's landscape, history and culture as a traveler attraction, needs special mention.

Thai civilization dates back to 3600 Bc, though Thailand first announced independence around 1238 Ad. Since then, the city of Sukhothai was taken from the Khmer Empire and located under Thai rule, the Lanna Kingdom was founded, Ayutthaya was the first capital and later moved to more or less where Bangkok is today and cities and temples, of which the outer walls and ruins can still be visited today, was build. Hence, Thailand with all these inheritance sites, palaces and museums, is a history lovers dream and will enrich your knowledge of a very old and very curious culture. Then many historical and ancient places are unmistakably a must for every tourist.

As said, Thailand's beautiful islands, warm azure oceans, crystal white beaches and warm tropical weather is the original reasons for many, if not most who come here. However, getting off the beaten track can lead to a very curious and fulfilling visit.

Venture up north to Places like Chiang Mai (a place they say perfected hospitality), Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son, to sense more typical Thai culture, the friendliness of the citizen and a jaw dropping landscape. Green forested hills, rivers and waterfalls define the beautiful environment, also rich with history and culture.

A plethora of national parks dot Thailand, especially in the north, criss crossed by hiking trails, waiting to be explored. This is a far cry from sipping cocktails under a palm tree on an island right?

And while you are there, visit the Northern Hill Tribes, descendants of Chinese, Burmese, Laotians & Vietnamese who migrated to Thailand over the centuries. Still dressing in original clothing and very much still living the way they always did, these amiable citizen is an sense not to be missed.

Another highlight of traveling straight through Thailand is the cost of transport. Certainly, if one is going to tour in incommunicable luxury all the time, things can be slightly more expensive, but generally, traveling in Thailand can be dirt cheap and the many colourful vehicle options make it as much fun as it is allocation friendly.

Also, the more authentic and local your mode of transport, and thus also more fun, the economy it gets. Swap the fancy speedboat for a longtail boat for instance (not all longtail boats look like a canoe. Some are bigger boats carrying larger cargo, but they are basic). It is much slower, but you get to see so much more and it just feels great.

Take the train from Bangkok to Surat Thani if you are traveling to any islands in The Gulf of Thailand instead of flying. Even with a mini bus from Bangkok to Chumpon and from there by boat to islands in the Gulf will cost you less than 2000 Thai Baht for a 600 kilometer journey. All the while it will be a much bigger adventure and part of your entire vacation sense than just taking the fastest and most expensive option.

In summary, you want to visit Thailand because it is so different. Distinct to the west, but also Distinct to most other eastern or Asian countries.

A big city like Bangkok aside, Thailand is still very much rural, and even in towns a petite more industrialized like Hua Hin, Thailand still retains a very authentic Thai feel. Life is still easy in many ways with a relaxed, tomorrow will see to itself attitude.

Our guidance is to book hotel accommodation in more than one region of Thailand. Spend a week on an island, but then also study the inner and northern part of Thailand, be surprised and impressed at the same time and start production plans to return as soon as possible.

For fast & amiable aid and the best prices where it comes to hotel bookings, vehicle arrangements and tours and excursions, sense http://www.thebesthotelsinthailand.com

Peak Season Holiday Tips for Thailand

Thailand is a popular tourist destination from December through to February and it can get very over crowded in the popular tourist destinations. Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok are by far the most popular and busiest places in Thailand during peak season. Citizen often try to avoid these places and go to the next popular places like Koh Samui, Krabi, and Chiang Mai but sometimes even these places can be hard to find accommodation and can also get very crowded.

Prices in these destinations also are up due to these places having a lot of tourists who spend big, so it might be great to try and find other destinations which will be cheaper, less crowded and more importantly also have just as good of a time or even great than the usual tourist hot spots.

Phuket Thailand

Below are some of other great places to visit during the peak season in Thailand.

Trang, One of the most underrated places in Thailand, most tourists who come to Thailand have never even heard about this place, this is one fo the popular places the local Thai Citizen like to visit and it is very beautiful. If the locals are raving on about it then it has to be good. Trang is a few hours south of Phuket, cheaper, cleaner and a lot more cordial than Phuket. Khao Sok, A place which is growing speedily as a great destination to visit. A holiday in a rainforest which is even more diverse and older than the amazon rainforest. The wild life and eco tourism in Khao Sok is definitaly the best in Thailand and possibly Asia. This has been kept a inexpressive for awhile and tourists and expats in Thailand are only now starting to see great this place is. Hua Hin, is about 3 hours drive from Bangkok and is has only started to become popular over the last few years, the main beach is one of the cleanest I have seen in Thailand and normally only has a handful of Citizen on it due to hotels being built right next to it, it makes the passage for other Citizen harder. The nightlife is also starting to get bigger with a estimate of new bars chance every month, it is a great place to go that is not too far from Bangkok.

There are other places in Thailand that are off the beaten track that are emerging, but the above are the best alternatives in peak season for now.

A Sor Kor 1 was used a long time ago but still exists today in many places in Phuket and it Thailand. This type of title gives you the right to farm the land but not sell the land. It's very much like a right to use the land. I've heard this sometimes is also known at the proprietary right to use the land. Be specific buying land near this kind of land as it delays the Chanote production process by any months as I learned before because you need to get it approved by an additional one local government office.

Por Bor Tor 5

Por Bor Tor 5 land is ordinarily farm land or agricultural land and listing as having no owner at the local office. This kind of land has been built on in the past. It's very base here on the island here and colse to Phuket. The hamlet chief is normally the one who administers and controls this land.

Por Bor Tor 6

Por Bor Tor 6 land is the documentation in order for the tax amount to be given for a piece of land. This only shows the land is taxable and has nothing to do with proprietary rights.

Sor Por Kor 4-01

Sor Por Kor 4-01 is land that was allotted by the land department reform committee. The idea was so poor population could have land. This land can be passed down to only direct heirs and the title cannot be bought or sold.

Next part I will recap some of the greater land titles in Thailand and show some photo examples. I have seen some of the above documentation but I didn't photo copy at the time. All these land title exist in Phuket real estate market. The smart investor will want to buy land that has an upgraded title to Chanote status.

Bringing Western Values to Thailand

More and more westerners are making Thailand their home. We all bring with us our own set of core values deeply rooted from our upbringings and the societies from which we come. They are the rules by which we live our lives; the ideas and moral guidelines that govern our actions and decision making process. We do not all have the same set of values but anyone values we hold, the likelihood is they are separate to those held in Thailand.

Many ex-pats in Thailand are the breadwinners for their families, own their own businesses or are employed in management positions. We therefore often find ourselves in a position of authority or sway over Thai people. This leads us to a dilemma. To what extent should we impose our own set of western values onto the Thai habitancy over whom we have influence?

Phuket Thailand

I greatly respect and enjoy Thai culture. I happily embrace many of the values of my new homeland. However, I also have my own set of values and I cannot leave them all behind just because I am now in Thailand. Many of them are too deeply entrenched in my psyche. Enforcing my set of western values into my life inevitably means also forcing them into my wife's life. My wife is Thai and does not always believe in the same things I do.

A good example of westerners and Thais retention contrasting values is the branch of road safety. Most Thais do not believe in wearing crash helmets or seatbelts. They ordinarily do wear them but they do so to avoid a police fine rather than for the sake of safety. Westerners generally accept that protection precautions are a good idea. We may not like our governments enforcing them on us by law but still we believe in the principle of taking protection precautions.

It is easy to understand the reasons for this divergence in outlook. Thais are fatalistic. It is part of their Buddhist religion. They believe that what will be, will be. If something is going to happen then it will happen and there is dinky you can do about it. In the west, we believe in controlling our own destinies. We believe our actions have implications that will sway future actions.

So we have a inherent cause of contention. I know some ex-pat westerners who will not start their car until all their passengers have put on their seatbelts. I know others who will not take pillion passengers on their motorcycle unless they wear a helmet. These are not only generally held western protection ideas but also laws of Thailand. But still these westerners are forcing their values on Thais who do not hold the same values. We are arrival to their country and forcing them to act like us. Is this right?

I have no doubt that our western outlook is the right one on this subject. I am sure most accidents are avoidable and if not you can at least take protection precautions to reduce their impact. However, that is not the point. It is not a question of who is right or wrong but either it is right to force western values on habitancy in our host nation who do not believe in them. One of my moral beliefs is that it is wrong to force my beliefs on other people. So I take the attitude that if habitancy want to ride in my car or on my motorcycle without taking protection precautions then it is their choice.

But what if you are responsible for that person's safety? What if that someone is a child?

When we had our first child I assumed we would buy a baby seat for the car. It is what we would do in the west. My wife was surprised when I suggested we go shopping for such an item. Why would we want to strap our baby into the back of the car? She would hold the baby while I drove.

I still believed a baby seat was a good idea so we went shopping. Of course, you will not find baby seats in most Thai shops. They are something most Thais would not think of buying. We went to look at the choice in Robinsons group Store. They were costly and they all needed rear seatbelts to attach them. Our car does not even have rear seatbelts so as well as buying the baby seat we would also have to get the car modified. At this point I suitable we would not buy one.

I still believed we needed one but it was just proving too hard working against the Thai reliance that we didn't. Even the sales girls agreed it wasn't necessary.

There are many ways that westerners settling in Thailand bring parts of their home country's lifestyle with them. In Phuket we can get western style houses, furniture, kitchens, appliances and satellite Tv. I love Thai food and in our household we eat Thai food most of the time but still sometimes I want to eat western food. That will never be a question in Phuket.

There is nothing wrong with building your own dinky piece of home in your new country if that is what you want. The question is when your home values start invading the lives of Thai habitancy who do not want them.

Western culture is very invasive. We see western fast food outlets popping up all over Thailand. High profile advertising campaigns make them seem trendy and piquant ignoring the fact that the food is not as good or nutritious as the local fare. The supervene is lots of dinky fat Thai children. New 7-eleven convenience stores are popping up in every neighbourhood while the local Thai grocery stores close. The Christian religion has a history of vigorously promoting itself in non-Christian countries. The United States has a procedure of promoting 'the American way' across the globe.

We seem to have an ingrained reliance in our own rightness. We do not of course accept other nation's cultures or values. We expect them to convert to be more like us. It is an issue about which we need to be truthful when living in other culture. We do not need to lose our own identities and values but we do need to find a way to combine them into our lives without smothering the local culture or offending local people.

When is the Best Time to Visit Phuket?

If you're mental about a trip to Phuket then you're probably wondering when the best time to visit the island is. It all comes down to what you're after. Depending on when you pick to visit Phuket, you could end up battling it out with the locals in a water fight, sitting alone on a secluded beach or caught in the middle of the annual torture fest.

By far the most inspiring time to visit Phuket is while Songkran, which is the Thai New Year. What was once a customary gesture of pouring a limited water on one other has morphed into the world's most intense water fight. It goes on all over Thailand and the islanders in Phuket give it all they've got.

Phuket Thailand

If you don't like getting wet, don't even bother going outside. Songkran takes place April 13 to 15, with April 15 being the big day for the water fight. It's crazy. Habitancy line the streets all round the island, armed with water guns, buckets and hose pipes. Some Habitancy ride colse to in the backs of pickup trucks normally with a barrel or two full of water. Patong is where the action is wildest and the madness goes on well into the night. Everyone plays: locals, foreigners, men, women, young, old. It has to be seen to be believed.

For something totally out there, you have to check out the Phuket Vegetarian Festival. It's like nothing else you will ever experience. Entranced men and women (maa song) are said to feel no pain as they walk colse to the streets with their cheeks pierced with needles, knives, spears and all kinds of inspiring objects. If you're squeamish, give this one a miss. The festival happens every year in October.

The festival is also a great time to go veggie and you'll find that most of the local restaurants strike meat from the menu. Get yourself a map and travel to the Chinese temples to see ceremonies and other curiosities. On the last day, head to Saphan Hin, where the festival climaxes with Habitancy lining the streets and throwing firecrackers into the road as the maa song walk the final procession through Phuket Town.

Chinese New Year is also a fun time to visit Phuket, especially if you're a fan of Chinese food. The festival isn't quite as inspiring and glitzy as in Bangkok, but it's still worth seeing if you happen to be in the area. It takes place in February.

New Year's Eve in Phuket is best enjoyed in Patong. Everyone heads down to the beach before midnight to watch the magnificent fireworks display. Road sellers all the time have a variety of fireworks on offer, although due to most Habitancy being drunk, these often end up shooting into crowds of bemused onlookers, so watch out.

Of course, if you just want a quiet holiday, the best time to visit Phuket is from May to October while low season when visitor numbers are way down but the island is still just as beautiful.
