Get wet while you get wed in Thailand

The Underwater Wedding Fair in Trang, now in its 15th year, is held to promote cultural tourism. This year more than 30 couples will tie the knot and get a chance to join several activities from Feb 11-13. On the first day, they join a ceremony called Kin Niew at Tubthiang Garden in which couples are served sticky rice with chicken curry, a local dish reserved for weddings only. On the second day, they ink marriage certificates, either under the crystal-clear sea off Koh Kradan or in the spectacular Morakot Cave, after which they proceed to a party on Viva Tai Samut Beach. On the last day, they get to experience Trang's diverse cultures and lifestyles, according to Salil Tohtubthiang, chairman of the Trang Chamber of Commerce.
